This session will explore the importance of strategic planning and design to transform cities into attractive destinations for innovators offering critical mass, adequate support services for both businesses and individuals (e.g. affordable housing) and a friendly business environment, complemented by robust public services and amenities.
The session will also introduce the results of two, currently ongoing studies, undertaken by the JRC’s Competence Centre on Technology Transfer on ‘Public Private Partnerships for Science and Technology Parks and Innovation Districts’ and on ‘Innovative Investment Models for Sustainable and Innovative Urban Innovation Eco-systems’.
